Commemorative Service for the 60 Anniversary of Victory in Europe Day

A pre parade and service reception was hosted at Pershore Civic Centre by Wychavon District Council Chairman, Cllr David Noyes (L-R) Mayor of Droitwich, Mayoress and Mayor of Pershore and Mayoress of Evesham

Crowds packed the Pershore streets, cheering and waving union flags. Representatives from all branches of the present day services and veterans. They were joined by units from the USA and Canada. The open air service in Abbey Park, was conducted by the Reverend Kenneth Crawford and members of Pershore Abbey Choir. A very memorable and moving occasion.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them"
